Christmastime's a comin'

I can already hear my dad singing that old song. I'm getting very excited about going home! We haven't gone to MO since last Christmas, so we're excited to journey that way. It's going to be a busy time, but it'll be worth it. 10 days and counting!

My friend Beth took some pictures of Hannah last week while she was here babysitting. Hope you enjoy them. She did well with her shots and is growing so fast! She's 12lbs and almost 24 inches long. She's a blessing!

Happy Thanksgiving! We have been blessed beyond words! I tried to write down several times this week, 25 things I was thankful for and the list filled up almost instantly. We enjoyed the special holiday at home with our friends, The Hull's, coming over for lunch. It was definitely a feast. We had so much fun cooking and watching Polar Express with Eli. Then we went to the beach to stay with some more friends for the weekend. Us girls did a little shopping while the guys played golf. I'm so looking forward to the Christmas cheer that everyone seems to have. This is my favorite time of year.

Here's Hannah. She'll be 9 weeks old tomorrow. She's growing up so fast. Her smile is so sweet and she coos and laughs at us everytime we hold her. We're going for her two month well baby visit on Thursday. I'm anxious to see how much she weighs and her progression thus far. God Bless you all!

Week 5

Well, here we grow again. Hannah is growing so much! She's so alert and funny right now. I can tell she's starting to really know who we are and when we are around. She's absolutely beautiful...of course I'm sort of partial to her. My favorite thing about her is her smile. She smiles at me in the early morning hours as I feed her. The best ones come though right after she gets up for the day. She's so happy and cuddly. God has really blessed us!

Our friend Leslie let us borrow Eli's first Halloween costume so we could send pictures to our families. Of course we aren't trick or treating tonight, but it was fun for picture sake. She's a beautiful caterpillar.

Our church family had "Pastor Appreciation" this past Sunday. We are very grateful for the many gifts we received. Chris took Hannah on the stage in her TN Vols dress since we beat the SC Gamecocks! Perhaps a subtle rubbing it in....at any rate, she was adorable in the dress and the congregation was laughing.

Week 4

We're finishing up our 6 weeks at home very quickly. I'm not ready to get back to the work scene just yet. I've enjoyed the freedom of sleep and running to town when I need to. Hannah is doing very well still. She is really focusing very well on us when we talk. She's starting to smile and she has great control of her head already. She has really been a blessing. Everyone has warned us of sleepless nights and constant crying, but she hasn't been that baby...yet. She is a very good baby. I say that as she's fussing in the swing....but she really is good. Here are some new photos of her.

We love to support daddy's football days, so she's all dressed up in her TN Vols gear. We miss our families, and hope they are enjoying this blog of updates.

Week 3

Hannah is three weeks old now. She's doing very well. She seems to be growing more and more every day. We've been out a few times which makes for an interesting day. It's funny how a baby changes how you do things and go places...and all that you take with you.

Chris's brother and his family came to visit us this past weekend. That was her first time with cousins. We also went to church for the first time too. Everyone went on and on about her. Of course we do too.

We're new at this

That seems to be the theme of our lives right now. I wanted to set up this blog so that our families could see our newest addition. Miss Hannah Jewell came into our lives almost 3 weeks ago. She is truly a gift from God.

My family just left this morning after having been with us for almost three weeks. My mom was a tremendous help and I'll be forever greatful that she took the time to come help me. We're doing ok so far, but it's only been an hour.

I better get going, the next round of family will be in to visit in the morning.
